An island workbench maximizes efficient use of the laboratory’s central area.

  • An island workbench is the most versatile furniture solution in the VISULab range, as it can incorporate nearly all features of the collection.
  • The central installation unit provides a fixed pathway for building systems and utilities.
  • There are no vertical legs at the front edge of the workbench, which improves ergonomics, especially for seated work.
  • Under-desk cabinets are attached to the desk frame, leaving the floor space free, and allowing the cabinet to be repositioned under the work surface. The cabinet can be removed and relocated entirely under another work surface.
  • We have selected high-quality, commonly used dimensions and materials for our standard solutions.
  • Custom solutions are always tailored to meet the specific needs of the client.

Installation mehodFree-standing on the floor, adjustable pads as standard. Sink tables need to be mounted.
MaterialsWorktop material is acid- and chemical-resistant solid laminate (T2). Other options are also available; please read more on the Worktop Materials page. The frame is made of powder-coated steel to meet environmental requirements in laboratory

Load capacityManual height adjustment:
Recommended load capacity is 200 kg per table, which typically provides sufficient rigidity considering sway and deflection of the surface. Maximum load capacity 400 kg per table; this value should not be exceeded. Higher load capacities also possible; please inquire of our experts for more information.

Electric height adjustment:
240 kg per table (2 electric legs). Higher load capacities are also possible; please inquire of our experts for more information.
Height adjustmentManual adjustment: Stepless adjustment from 750 to 900 mm.
